August 17, 2007 Dear Community Supporter, On behalf of Collins Productions, the Virginia Street Swedenborgian Church and The Event Network, Inc., we invite you to join us in sponsoring this community celebration that showcases the music and dance of the Golden Age of Jazz. Mark your calendars for September 7 & 8, 2007 for A Weekend of Swing, Jazz & Tap with Queen of Swing Norma Miller. Norma Miller is an author, choreographer, dancer, comedian and actor whose career spans over seven decades. Discovered at the age of twelve by the Savoy Ballroom's legendary dancer Twist Mouth George, Ms. Miller has been in show business ever since. Honored with a National Heritage Foundation Fellowship from the National Endowments of the Arts for her role in creating and continuing to preserve "the acrobatic style swing dance, known as the Lindy Hop," Ms. Miller is an inspiration to all who know her. We ask your help to assist us in organizing and marketing this culturally significant event. We are seeking corporate sponsors for our first annual It Don’t’ Mean a Thing…If It Ain’t Got That Swing…A Tribute to Queen of Swing Norma Miller and invite you to lend your support. A portion of the proceeds from each event will benefit Collins Productions, a 501 (c) 3 which strives to teach underserved children and others in the community about the history of Swing & Jazz Dance & Music and the significant role they have played in American History. For volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, please contact: Collins Productions, 965 Selby Avenue, Saint Paul, Minnesota 55104, (651) 231-7718 or Info@NormaMillerSwings.com
Sincerely, Mary Collins, Collins Productions Julie McEnroe, The Event Network
