Key West fire fails to foil 89th birthday for 'Queen of Swing' Norma Miller

Norma Miller, the Queen of Swing, has entertained millions of people over eight decades with performances in movies and TV, for soldiers in Vietnam, at the Beachcomber Hotel in Miami Beach, and in packed venues around the world.
For her 89th birthday bash this week, Miller had planned to make a few more people laugh with a comedy routine about her life as a spinster.

But that plan went up in smoke. A fire broke out at the Bahama Village American Legion Post 168 just hours before the party, which was to feature a soul-food buffet.
