DALLAS, TEXAS - APRIL 21 & 22, 2007 (and APRIL 2008!) The Dance Council of Dallas and North Texas' 11th Dance for the Planet (held in collaboration with the Art District Friends) is a free family-oriented outdoor dance festival. On Friday night, they hosted a an evening with Norma at the Sons of Hermann Hall that featured the Texas Premiere of the documentary "Queen of Swing."
The West Las Vegas Arts Center, located east of North J Street, serves the predominantly African-American community in West Las Vegas.
Founded in 2001, the Debbie Allen Dance Academy is driven by a commitment to train aspiring young dancers, as well as take dance into communities where youth have limited access for instruction. Promising young dancers, 8 to 21 years old, from all across the world gather each summer to be personally challenged by Ms. Allen and her stellar faculty (including Norma!) Dance Camp originally started as a one-week event back in the summer of 1982 and has become the leading and most comprehensive dance camp in the world focusing on the African-American swing dance tradition. Herräng, a sleepy one-horse town is in the outskirts of nowhere but still fairly easy to reach by car or public transportation from Stockhom. GUILDFORD/SURREY, GREAT BRITAIN AUGUST 3 5, 2007 (and AUGUST 2008!) In its 4th year, Camp Savoy, “The UK’s Home of Happy Feet” is held at Surry University outside of London. Celebrating the best of The Savoy Ballroom and therefore the best of The Lindy Hop (the original and still King of all Swing Dances) their aim is to re-educate - especially newcomers the immense history of its origins and its enduring relevance to today’s Swing World. Lindy has always been a History-led dance and it is important to us to continue the story of The Lindy Hop now and to future generations.

Collins Productions’ 2007 Norma Miller Tour, It Don’t Mean A Thing…If It Ain’t Got That Swing and their 2006 Tribute to the Legends of Jazz, Tap and Swing…A Salute to Norma Miller at Orchestra Hall (along with their previous Tappin in the Twin Cities events going back to 1990) bring to children of all ages the music, dance and stories of our country’s living Jazz icons. Held at various venues throughout the Twin Cities, Norma’s 2007 Tour included the Minneapolis and St. Paul Film Premieres of ‘Queen of Swing” followed by questions and answers, and book and DVD signings…and a guest appearance at the Selby Jazz Festival. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - OCTOBER 3 - 6,2007 Norma joins Chazz Young (Frankie Manning's son and a member of the former Norma Miller Jazz Men) will be celebrating tap legend Dr. Prince Spencer's Birthday Party at the West Las Vegas Arts Center. PETERSBERG, FLORIDA - OCTOBER 2008 The venue for this convention and competition is the Coliseum's 1920 era grand ballroom that features an authentic swing era ambiance. Norma has been a guest of honor in the past, but wasn't able to make the 2007 event this year due to a scheduling conflict. She is planning to attend in 2008! ANAHEIM MARRIOTT, CALIFORNIA - NOVEMBESR 21 - 25, 2007 (Thanksgiving Weekend) This is Norma's first year attending the US Open Swing Dance Championships at the Anaheim Marriott. The US Open Swing Dance Championships is the oldest and largest National Swing Dance competition and is celebrating its Silver Anniversary (25th Anniversary) this year. It is a founding member of the National Association of Swing Dance Events, (NASDE), and a member of the World Swing Dance Council, (WSDC) and was founded in 1983 by Jack Bridges (now deceased.)
